He is known as “The mayor of Zeno” as he often can be found checking in on people and making sure they laugh every day. He has a deep love for the Boston Red Socks and dogs and is a determined athlete when he attends Zeno’s adaptive sports camp each year. Stephen is a people person and his joyous energy is a critical part of the fabric of Zeno. He is a deeply creative person, which can be seen in his exceptional work at Zeno this past summer. His blending of colors and unique composition make this another way we can see Stephen’s colorful perspective on life.</p><p><br></p><div><br></div><p></p>

<span>Anton Hirschfeld was born in Paris on June 22, 1992.</span><br><div>He began painting when he was sixteen, thanks to the sensitivity and skill of an art teacher in a center for teenagers with special needs. Up until that point, no one had suspected this talent, despite a family history of artists, and parents who were very committed to his education from early childhood.</div><div>Fascinated by reflections of all kinds, his first paintings were inspired by train windows, which he could spend hours watching in the railway stations of Paris. Although most of his painting tends towards abstraction, he is capable of capturing a likeness in a portrait, including his own, and he often draws inspiration from photos of cities, particularly New York.</div><div>Anton attends Zeno Mountain Farm in the summers and is represented by the Christian Burst Gallery in Paris.</div><div><br></div>

The collection of menus features a phenomenal range of artists, photographers, composers, and writers, including Merce Cunningham and John Cage, Cindy Sherman, Francesco Clemente, Cy Twombly, Allen Ginsberg, and Roy Lichtenstein, to name just a few. His work involves steel plates that are cut, layered and assembled to produce intricate and dimensional arrangements that merge urban aesthetics with a concern for nature. His work fills the halls of the Breakers Hotel in Palm beach and is installed at Jean Georges Restaurant in NYC, Inagiku at the Waldorf-Astoria, New York, onesixtyblue restaurant in Chicago, and the Dan Eilat Hotel, Eilat, Israel. Most notably, Corbett has placed her iconic Shipley’s donut painting in Lizzo’s private art collection. She was selected by the TEDx Committee to give a TED Talk in May 2018, and was included in The Celebration of Texas Art 2019, curated by Jennie Goldstein, assistant curator of The Whitney Museum of American Art.</div>

She lives full-time in an integrated community with folks with and without disabilities. Last year, she attended Zeno’s first ever “West Coast Camp,” adventuring in RV’s in Northern California, but has been coming to camp in Vermont for 5 years. Being around Lelia means finding laughter in the mundane, seeing elements of the world you wouldn’t typically pay attention to. Lelia has a contagious energy that reminds us all of how to enjoy life to the fullest, but this ecstatic energy is balanced with her deep, grounded presence in the quiet moments where she cues us to marvel and appreciate.</span></p><p><br></p><p></p>

<span>Adama is an exuberant artist and the most joyous person in every room. She loves to dance and lights up any dance party or stage. Being with Adama, one is quick to let go of preconceived ideas of what it means to celebrate all elements of life from dance parties to tea time on Zeno’s sunset porch. She shares her heart freely with all her friends at Zeno even when we are all away from camp and getting a phone call from Adama helps us all remember how to live life fully.</span><br><div><br></div>

<div>By Andrew Pilkington</div><div>16x20in Canvas</div>Andrew Pilkington is an artist, filmmaker, producer, writer, advocate, and model. He has recently moved back to his hometown of Boston. MA. He is passionate about his work and can be found working late hours into the night to make large projects come to light. His most recent project was producing Zeno’s feature film, “Best Summer Ever,” now streaming on Hulu. He is a dear friend of Lucy de Kooning-Villeneuve. The two quickly became friends in her first summer at Zeno in 2019. Since then, they have had many adventures together, including last summer when he visited her and worked alongside her in her studio to create the work shown today. Andrew is the friend you call when you need someone to encourage you to be your best self. He’s also the friend you call when you really need to party.&nbsp;

She is an incredible swimmer and an active member of the Zeno community. She is very passionate about music, and wherever Christina goes, some form of music follows. She enjoys creating all types of art, but at Zeno this past summer, she took a particular interest in painting. She is highly specific about many things in her life, but when painting, she expresses herself through a blend of many colors. She works very quickly but with clear intention on where each color goes to help create a cohesive composition.</span></p><p></p>

In addition to being an artist, he is a lifelong athlete. He trains, plays soccer and tennis, windsurfs and outriggers canoes all year long. He lives with his family between Hawaii and Boston throughout the year. Josh has a smile that lights the hearts of all of those around him. He is deeply passionate about any type of adventure and thoroughly enjoys getting in a packed up truck and embarking on journeys with friends. Josh made this painting at Zeno this year alongside his good friend Devon. He was drawn to the sponge brush and worked on delicately placed strokes that depict what he calls, The Truck.</p><div><br></div><p></p>

He loves to ski, dance, swim and party with his friends at Zeno. Gabriel’s presence always feels like a hug. On walks to the cabin, Gabe will pause, place a hand on a tree, and look up at it stretching over him. Wherever Gabe looks, people are inclined to follow his gaze as he shows a deep curiosity in the magic of nature. His favorite colors, blue and green, can be seen in this art work here which he made looking out the window at the expansive Vermont mountains.</div><div><br></div>

She is a passionate advocate for the disability and LGBTQ communities and will never fail to speak up for what she fiercely believes in. She loves to dance and write and has a wicked sense of humor. In addition to spending summers at Zeno, she skis with Zeno every winter at Ski Camp and loves zipping down the mountain with a thrill that matches her “game-on” attitude about life. Sara made this artwork using her hands. While Sara sometimes paints with an attached paintbrush, in this work, she works entirely with the expressive movements of her hands.</p><p><br></p><div><br></div><p></p>
